apartments to rent Los Gigantes Tenerife

Teide National Park in TenerifeTenerife is the largest of the Canary Islands and a fabulous holiday destination at any time of year. In common with the other islands in this archipelago in the Atlantic Ocean, the island has volcanic origins which provide an amazing volcanic experience in the Centre of the island in the Teide National Park. El Teide is the 3rd largest volcano in the world and visitors can take a cable car to 200 metres from the top to catch traces of sulphurous gases and distant views.  It is possible to walk the 200 metres to the top by booking a time slot. Surrounding the volcano is a wilderness of volcanic rock and lava fields that is in the early stages of re-growth. Fascinating rocks and craters lead in all directions. The climb to El Teide takes visitors through cloud level up to where it can be quite chilly with snow on the top despite warm conditions down at the coast.

The majority of apartments and holiday developments is around the coast and beaches. Tenerife has a split personality, the north is wetter and greener, the south arid and warmer. The beaches on the western coast tend to be sheltered whereas wind surfers should head to the south east of the island where there are winds and big waves for surfing and kite flying.

Everything is geared up to give holidaymakers a holiday to remember. The sea is crystal clear, the beaches very clean, palm trees line the streets and there are is something for everyone to do, especially in the larger resorts such as La Caleta or Playa de las Americas.

Go to Los Gigantes or Puerto de Santiago on the west coast for quieter resorts with excellent opportunities for whale watching and fishing trips along its protected coastline. The cliffs here are the second tallest in the world.  One of the most picturesque villages set high up among the crags is Masca.  Walk down from Masca to the coast through a narrow ravine filled with rare species of plants and trees. Catch the water taxi back to Los Gigantes.

There is an enormous range of self catering apartments to rent in Tenerife for all budgets. Visitors from Europe and Russia return year after year to relax on its beaches and to continue their discovery of this island under blue skies. Come and join them for an unforgettable holiday experience.
