Lingcombe Barn is perfect for couples' escapes and active walking or cycling holidays throughout the year. Nestled amongst the hills on the North East side of Dartmoor it is set in unspoilt rolling Dartmoor countryside, surrounded by glorious flora and fauna, making it the ideal base for reconnecting with nature and for exploring Dartmoor by foot, bike or car.
The Barn is perfect for both summer and winter breaks. In good weather enjoy open views across Dartmoor from the various outdoor seating areas or the enclosed yard. In winter months return home and enjoy the cozy woodburning stove.
The Barn, which has been lovingly converted and luxuriously furnished, is adjacent to both the Two Moors Way and the Mariners Way, with direct access onto the Moor. Its location just 2 miles south of the ancient and bustling stannary town of Chagford, means there are many good cafes, pubs and restaurants’ within an hours walk or a 10 minute drive.
Guests and their dogs will enjoy exploring the amazing network of paths that start directly from the barn. Destinations include the picturesque village of Widicombe on the Moor (5 miles), the Bronze age settlement of Grimspound (3 miles), Castle Drogo (5 miles) famous for being the last castle built in England and Fenworthy Reservoir. Cosy pubs within a 3 mile walk include the Warren House Inn which is the highest in southern England, and 4 glorious establishments in Chagford (3 miles).
