Corfe Castle in the Isle of Purbeck, near the south coast in Dorset, is a village overlooked by a magnificent ruined castle owned by the National Trust. It's a popular place for a day trip. Someting for families to add to the day might be a journey on the Swanage Railway in one of its steam trains, or a Santa Special in the run up to Christmas. Those familiar whith the Dorset coast will already appreciate the attractive scenery, cliff walks, geological formations and good beaches. Corfe Castle and the surrounding area is a good destination for an activity filled weekend break.
