Lying on the border of both Lincolnshire and Cambridgeshire is the attractive village of Crowland. Must see places during your holiday in Crowland

A must see in Crowland is the place of prayer and worship in the town, the magnificent and monastic Crowland Abbey. Once a centre for religious life before being dissolved by former King Henry VIII, the abbey today lies mostly in ruins and is an extremely popular landmark with visitors from all over the country. The bells that ring out to call the faithful to prayer are a particular joy to behold with a wonderful melodic sound that has recently been broadcast on national TV.

Another major historic site in this stunning Lincolnshire village is its unique medieval three-sided wonder, the 14th century Trinity Bridge. When first built, it was situated on the River Welland and River Witham, but now the bridge is high and dry after the rivers changed direction in time. Why not scale one of the three stairways up to the top and transport yourself back to yesteryear?

Want to escape the many stresses of modern life? A holiday in Crowland is definitely the anecdote. How about enjoying a romantic retreat or an intimate family get together on the plethora of comfortable leather sofas dotted around your large open living area? Need to shelter from the sometimes brisk Crowland air? See the evening in next to the roaring flames of your traditional log burner before playing a board game or dealing out a deck of cards. The perfect way to bring the peace and tranquillity of outside inside.
