Large cottages for walking groups in the Peak District who are looking for self-catering holidays and weekend breaks in Derbyshire, with comfortable accommodation to return to after their walks.

The county of Derbyshire can be found in the East Midlands of England and is an incredible place in which to rent self-catering accommodation for walkers as most of the Peak District National Park lies within the county. With parts of the National Forest being located here as well as the southern portion of the Pennine range of hills, there is no place more perfect for keen walkers and hikers in the UK than Derbyshire, and staying in a charming cottage that overlooks some of this spectacular scenery is the best way to experience the delights of this gorgeous county.

Whether you are a keen trekker who likes a challenge or if you are just up for some relaxing walks and ambles through stunning backdrops, Derbyshire has it all. The Peak District is an area of diverse natural beauty, with hills, moorland and rivers. Great places to go walking by here include the hill of Mam Tor and moorland plateau of Kinder Scout. The National Forest is also excellent for walking or enjoying picnics in, and of course those who like a challenge can climb the peaks of the Pennines, known as the ‘backbone of England’.

There are plenty of cottages, apartments and houses peppered throughout Derbyshire where you can wake up to incredible scenery and embark on daily walks. These self-catering accommodations come equipped with everything you need on a break like this with fully-equipped kitchens and great living areas, so you can enjoy Derbyshire to the full.
