Dark Sky holidays are becoming quite popular across Europe. This page lists holiday cottages in Dark Sky locations across the UK. It can be rewarding to be able to make out the Milky Way and various constellations. Sadly, many of us live in towns and cities with too much light pollution to be able to do this.
The national parks, especially Exmoor, in Devon are very good places to go for a holiday to look at stars at night and there is the pleasure of sunbathing on beaches and touring the countryside during the day.
Cornwall offers similar dark skies in remote areas. Just find an unspoilt destination and book a cottage for a holiday that includes star gazing. Take binoculars or you may find accommodation with a telescope.
