Hatfield lies just north of junction 22 of the M25. 17th century Hatfield House is open to the public with a an annual programme of varied events. There are several Georgian and well-preserved half-timbered buildings adding character to the old part of Hatfield. Modern day attractions include the galleria - a purpose built shopping centre incorporating designer outlets, cinemas, restaurants and car parks.
