Corfe Castle in the Isle of Purbeck, near the south coast in Dorset, is a village overlooked by a magnificent ruined castle owned by the National Trust. It's a popular place for a day trip. Someting for families to add to the day might be a journey on the Swanage Railway in one of its steam trains, or a Santa Special in the run up to Christmas. Those familiar whith the Dorset coast will already appreciate the attractive scenery, cliff walks, geological formations and good beaches.
